Last Thursday, October 10th, Mrs. Teel took a group of her AP Biology students to Holly Springs, Mississippi, to learn about bird banding. Students had a great learning experience. The students left the school at around four in the morning to make the trip and get the best banding experience. Despite the time and chance of chiggers, several students attended the trip. They learned how to band birds and what the entire process for this was. It was not only a trip about birds, but they visited and were placed on the Strawberry Plains Audubon Center which used to be a plantation. They were taught the history of the plantation after they banded birds early that morning.
